How to get rid of Bedbugs

Bedbugs are a global problem and there has been a recent up serge in Bed Bug infestations in the UK; this may be due in part to environmental changes such as central heating, built in furniture, but most of all the increased use of temporary accommodation due to tourism.

Bed Bugs are a pest that potentially threatens everyone and can be found in any type of human environment not only in our homes hotels and hostels but also on buses and trains and in cinemas or offices etc. Bedbugs will not only hide in beds and soft furniture, but behind picture frames, electrical fittings, loose, wallpaper or in any crack or crevice they can find.

Bedbugs are nocturnal hiding during the day and only coming out to feed in the small hours on human blood taking between 3 and 15 minutes to complete their grisly meal.

Bed Bugs are not known to carry any communicable diseases, though they may play a part in viral transmission. But it is their bites that can cause suffering to sensitive people with intense itching with the possibility of secondary infection due to scratching.

Bedbugs are considered difficult to treat, but by following the European code of practise for Bed Bug management all treatments must start with a thorough and comprehensive survey to determine all areas of infestation which may take some time.

Inadequate preparation and treatment from the start often leads to the spreading of the infestation with the inevitable escalating costs to the customer. A follow-up should be completed to determine the success any previous treatment `
